Which one suits you?
Charter a yacht in the Solent
The Solent is one of the most popular sailing areas in the UK. Charter your own yacht with skipper or without and experience the Solent and all it has to offer. The yacht you charter is based in Portsmouth Harbour with easy access to the sea. So if you are looking for a sailing yacht to charter in the Solent, get in contact with Salty Dog Yacht Charter
Skippered charters are ideal for less-experienced crew, those lacking recognised qualifications or for people who want to sit back and relax. Charterers can get involved as little or as much as they want. Take a look at our places to go page on the home page to give you an idea of the places that can be visited.
Skippered charters can be for as little as 1/2 a day, for example you may wish to go for an evening cruise after work with food and drink supplied by Salty Dog Yacht Charter, this makes planning that much easier because guests are not having to take time off work. Because we are located at the entrance to Portsmouth harbour you can be sailing within a few minutes of leaving the berth.
Anton is a commercially-endorsed, fully qualified RYA Yachtmaster with in-depth knowledge and experience of sailing in the Solent and beyond.
Skippered charters cost an additional £140 per day. For overnight or longer cruises, please remember that the skipper requires a cabin.
Corporate Sailing Days
Salty Dog specialise in providing tailored sailing experiences.
Call us to discuss your requirements…
but here are a few ideas:
Sailing is a sport which requires teamwork and corporate sailing days are an ideal way to build teams through shared experiences.
Entertaining your clients has never been easier! Let Salty Dog Yacht Charter arrange everything for you, from food and drink to an itinerary that will give your guests a day to remember all inclusive packages including boat hire and food.
INCENTIVE AND REWARD PROGRAMS
Reward your key employees or most successful teams with bespoke sailing days. What better way than on a 45ft yacht powering through the Solent, stopping (for example) at Cowes for lunch and then back to Portsmouth in the afternoon.
Bareboat Charters “Park and Sail, Dock and Go”
Our yachts are available for bareboat (i.e. self-sail) charters, so you can explore the inlets and harbours of the Solent, Isle of Wight and South Coast and France at your leisure.
The yachts are wholly owned by Salty Dog and have a level of equipment far in excess of anything you would normally expect when chartering a yacht. Charters include freshly laundered pillow cases, hand towels and tea towels.
We won’t actually be on board with you, but you will still benefit from our unique service, tailored to your requirements, before, during and after your cruise.
To charter bareboat, you would normally need to have a minimum of Day Skipper for Antara and Coastal Skipper for Katabatic, as well as having experience of skippering a similar sized yacht. Experience is sometimes more important than qualifications so please get in contact to discuss if that is the case.
Park and Sail
We work with you to fully understand your plans and aspirations for your trip. We can fully provision the boat to your requirements or accept delivery of your provisions (e.g. from Ocado or tesco.com etc.) and stow them away before you come onboard. We can provide wet-weather gear if you need it.
Anton, proprietor and yacht owner, will be there to meet you, give a safety briefing and get you familiar with the vessel as quickly as possible. Our yachts have Sea Start cover, and Anton is on hand to offer phone advice and support throughout your cruise.
Dock and Go
Simply leave the boat to us to sort out. Let us worry about the cleaning.
